Sr. Ester UMI Breathes Her Last
Rev. Sr. Ester, aged 84, belonging to the Congregation of Ursulines of Mary Immaculate, Lucknow Province did not see the sun on 27th Jan 2013 as she breathed her last at 5.45 am in Mariampur Hospital, Kanpur.
Hailing originally from Karimannoor parish in Kothamangalam diocese in Kerala, Sr. Ester was the youngest among the four children of Mr. Joseph Michael and Mrs. Mary. She left her home to commit her life to the Lord even before the Independence of India in 1947. Though she had her formation and initial years as a religious in Kannur, Kerala, after her final vows she moved to Mariampur Convent Kanpur in 1957. Thereafter, till her last breath she spent her life as an educationist in Allahabad, Lucknow and Bareilly dioceses. The diocese of Allahabad places on record the services rendered by her in all the communities in Kanpur and in Obra.
The mortal remains of Sr. Ester will be buried in the Christian Cemetery, Laalkurti, Kanpur at 12.30 pm on Monday 28th January, 2013 in the presence of their Mother General Sr. Elvira, Provincial Sr. Carol, Vicar General Rev. Fr. K.K. Antony, parish priest Rev. Fr. Alex D’Souza, many other priests, religious and laity.
Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul rest in peace.
