New School Building Blessed at Shankergarh
Most Rev. Raphy Manjaly, the Bishop of Allahabad and Chairman of the Education Society inaugurated the newly built building of St. Joseph’s School at Kaitha Lakhanpur on the road to Banda near Shankergarh, by cutting the ribbon in presence of Rev. Fr. Louis Mascarenhas, the Vicar General and the Guest of Honour, Mr. Moti Singh, the Pradhan of Kaitha-Lakhanpur, Rev. Fr. Albert lobo the principal, Rev. Fr. Vincent Pereira his successor from July 2014, Rev. Sr. Salesia CJ the superior of St. St. Mary’s Convent, Taraon, Rev. Sr. Monica FDCC the superior of St. Anthony’s Convent, Allahabad, eminent guest priests, nuns, parents and students, and the citizens of Shivrajpur at 4.30 pm on 22nd June, 2014. The Chief Guest and the Guest of honour then unveiled the memorial stone.
Earlier, Bishop Raphy offered the Holy Eucharist along with a dozen of priests, nuns and laity against the odds of tent-lifting blow of the winds. He prayed for the success of the educational institute. Thereafter, Rev. Fr. Albert Lobo briefing the report of the School recalled the untiring hard work and the commitment of the founder father, Rev. Fr. Eric Pinto. He then welcomed all the eminent personalities with a bouquet each.
Speaking on the occasion Bishop Raphy, the chief guest, praised the hardwork of Fr. Albert Lobo the Principal, who put up a beautiful building within a short span of time. He said that this premiere institute would excel not only in imparting education but also in forming the young minds with social and moral values. The students who pass through the portals of this institution will be able to face life in the world outside. The Bishop and the Vicar General cut the ribbon, unveiled the memorial stone and blessed the buildings sprinkling holy water on them.
Ms Akansha Manjhi proposed vote of thanks. The short program came to end with refreshments to all, after which God blessed us with a rain.
